Charity auction
From 1 to 9 June 2016 www.au.legko-legko.ru runs a charity auction; all funds raised will be spent on the treatment of children suffering from cancer.
During the Ice Hockey World Championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg in May 2016, the team of Canada took part in an action of AdVita (For Life) Charity Foundation based in St.Petersburg.
Flying Animals animation series is an AdVita project: all funds coming from selling the goods with the characters are spent on treatment of children diagnosed with oncology. All characters come from different countries.
The Canada team players put their autographs on Ted the Bear soft toys – since Ted from Flying Animals comes from Canada!
AdVita Charity Foundation has been running charity auctions for several years; sportsmen of St.Petersburg – Zenit football players, SKA hockey players, Spartak basketball team, a tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova – gave their things to be sold for charity. The event with the Canada team is the first experience of international cooperation and we dare hope not the last.
Modern medicine is able to save many lives however the effective cure for cancer patients is very expensive and often is not covered by insurance. It’s the most difficult for both doctors and patients to understand that there is a chance for life but there’s no money to afford. The funds raised during the auction would help people get access to the most up-to-date and effective treatment. The report on expenses will be published in media and social networks; it will also be forwarded to the players who took part in the event.
We are very grateful for the support; we thank all the sportsmen participated in the action and the Ice Hockey World Championship organization committee.
About the Foundation. The AdVita (For Life) Charity Foundation was founded in 2002 by doctors and volunteers to support patients diagnosed with oncology and oncology departments in hospitals. At present, the Foundation’s support is given about 1,000 patients a year, they are people having treatment in all oncology departments of St.Petersburg. The main support recipient is Children Oncology, Hematology and Transplantation Insitute named after Raisa Gorbacheva. Helping this hospital to become one of the best in the world is the very important task for the foundation. Donations is the only chance for the AdVita’s wards to get the most up-to-date cure and live without the disease.
